Creating a New Observation

What is an Observation?

Observations are the heart of CoMapeo. They allow you to capture data about what you see in the field, including text, photos, audios, and location.


Create a New Observation

👣 Steps

Step 1 From the icon-map-low map view, tap the comapeo-capture-low capture(/orange?) button to create a new Observation.


Step 2 Choose the appropriate category for the Observation you are mapping.


Step 3 Add a description, details, comapeo-add-photo-low photos, and icon-add-audio-low audios as needed. (Described in detail below)


Step 4 Save your Observation. It will appear on your map and in the Observation list.

👣 Step by step

  1. From either Map view or Camera view, tap on the comapeo-capture-low large orange button with the plus symbol.

  2. Choose a category

  3. The editor will appear and you can add notes to your observation. You can add details, photos, and/or audio if desired. The instructions for those are below.

  4. When ready, tap on the blue check in the upper right to Save your observation.
